Investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders from Silicon Valley descended on London this week for an annual conference that inspires tech solutions for pressing global challenges. The two communities are two of the world’s leading innovation hubs, but a new report from Quid and London Partners maps the extent of their influence.
Not only are the two outperforming other regions like Paris, Berlin, and Tel Aviv in terms of investment, but they are also at the forefront of developing new ideas. According to the report, patent applications in seven key sectors ( Fintech, AI, MedTech, Cybersecurity, Gaming, Smart Cities, and Ad Tech) are on the rise. “While Silicon Valley has a strong tradition of producing some of the world’s leading tech companies,” said Bob Goodson, Founder and CEO of Quid, “the research also suggests that London is gaining ground and should also be considered a leading global destination to scale a tech business.”
